Hadas Kotek is a Senior NL Annotation Lead with the Siri Understanding Natural Language Team at Apple. In this CL profile, she will talk about her journey from academia to industry. Her current work focuses on annotation projects for machine learning models, including training and directing the work of a dedicated annotator workforce, working with engineers and data scientists to develop new projects and guidelines, working with platform engineers to develop new annotation tools, and working with international partners to determine budgets and priorities. As part of her work, she also helps maintain and extend our ontologies for existing products, and she’s led development of an ontology for a new product (not launched yet). She additionally does some data science, focusing mainly on the sampling strategies and structure of our training and test sets for different products.
