All meetups occur in GATHER.

Come to this unrecorded poolside chat to hear folks with master’s degrees in linguistics talk about their decision process to and through grad school, and why they ultimately decided not to get a PhD. We’ll start the session off with a short discussion among the presenters. We’ll then break out in to smaller groups to discuss pros and cons of grad school, and to work on a rubric to help guide the decision making process. We’re aiming for an open and honest discussion about the REAL costs (time, money, opportunity, and relationships) of the different decisions available to you. We welcome students at all levels who are working through questions about pursuing grad school post-college, continuing on to PhD studies, or even deciding if they should stay in their current degree program.

Presenters:
Laurel Sutton (Catchword Branding & Linguistics Career Launch)
Emily Pace (Linguistics Career Launch & industry linguist)
